I read this book the very first time the late 60s
and began a zealous obsession of reading
this bookcase is close to filled with such books representing my buying and reading of them since the middle 60s to the late 90s and maybe one of two in the last 18 years of this century.
Getting RICH was never really my goal.
Becoming successful in one of my chosen professions/occupations/careers was.
Due to an internet chat with a creativity colleague I have known for about 20 years through creativity conferences we both have presented at in the USA, Canada and more recently for him in South Africa about MASTERMIND GROUPS.
He has been part of one consisting of 3 people in Toronto for the past year.
I met one of the others through Mindcamp and other creativity conferences I believe initially about 8 years ago. The 3rd member I began to met this year in South Africa.
My longer friend asked me if I had ever belonged to a Master Mind Group.
My first response was yes in 1998 with about a dozen NSA-Georgia Chapter members, all professional speakers I had known some through the organization since I joined it in November of 1988.
My involvement didn't last long. I was looking for a professional group that would support and challenge me to grow as a speaker.
I discovered after two meetings I didn't fit that group of people at all.
Over the past week I have been exploring my memory of MASTER MIND GROUPS to figure out when I first became aware of them.
Finally I experienced an AHA!
Napoleon Hill's book THINK & GROW RICH
I went upstairs and took the book from my bookcase of such books and began reading it for the upteenth time at least partially read that is over the past 50 years.
In his forward I found the answer I was looking for.
While reading a few pages each day, an exercise I learned from Motivational and Self-Help authors and speakers beginning in 1967 or 8, my answer I was seeking blasted me in the face.
It was his book that introduced me to MMGs and he was the one who created the concept initially thanks to Andrew Carnegie who challenged NP to do a 20 year long study on what creates SUCCESS based upon a long list of friends of ACs
From Napoleon Hill and other M&S-H authors I developed the process and habit of having my own VIRTUAL MASTERMIND GROUPS involving
living people I knew
living people I contacted
living people I didn't contact
reading biographies or autobiographies or articles about famous people, heroes, heroines, mentors, gurus
I developed the pattern of reading such books and journaling at least Monday to Friday for an hour to two for years.
Looking back over the past 58 years I can easily credit my various successes to doing this in all 8 of my chosen professions/occupations/careers

Architecture from apprentice to nationally licensed architect
Interior Design
Graphics & Signage Designer
College Professor
Professional Speaker
International Speaker & Trainer.
Through using my VIRTUAL MM Groups
I won awards, achieved some recognition
in each of these from 1960 to today.
This book, my rewriting of Napoleon Hill's Classic
is meant to help me create my 9th career
in my 8th decade beginning at 74 years old
or an integration of 2 to 8 of my previous obsessions.
Throughout this book I will share lessons from the past
and lessons that I am learning as I write and apply them
today.
My goal is that reading my story/stories/experiences
will help you in REACHING YOUR GOALS
you have chosen in your life.
I have no real experience becoming super rich.
I have succeeded professionally each of my chosen 8 professions
at least for a short period of time became bored and
MOVED ON into another one or back to a previous one.
VARIETY is one of my obsessive traits
FLEXIBILITY is one of my other strong traits
CREATIVE THINKING and doing things CREATIVELY is an obsession as well.
